A population without a land, a state without a nation. And a wall, 2,700 km of sand and stones, which has divided a territory - (Western Sahara) - from its people - the Saharawi - for the past 35 years. It is like a scar this wall of walls. Four, five, six heaps of stones that run parallel to each other in the Sahara Desert, scattered with more than five million landmines and patrolled by 160,000 Moroccan soldiers. It was built in the '80s to block the attacks of the Sahrawi militants and the return of the refugees. Today most of this group lives in exile just as like its government. A scrape caused by the Spanish decolonisation followed by the Moroccan invasion.

Born in Monza on the 11th of December 1957. Fascinated by Celtic culture, at the age of 17 he begins the first of many trips to the British archipelago from where he will publish his first reportages: Dublin seen through the stories of James Joyce and the Vikings of the Shetland Islands. At the end of 1979 he makes his first trip to Africa leaving from France on an ancient Peugeot 404 which will take him across the Sahara up to the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean, in the states overlooking the Gulf of Guinea It will be love at first glance. From that moment Africa and its peoples will be ever-present in his life and reportages. Today he collaborates with geo and travel magazines: Geo, Focus, Airone, Panorama Travel, Geographical and Ushuaia. Freelance photographer for over 15 years, he's one of the co-founder of ParalleloZero photoagency. He is specialized on geographic and ethnographic reportages. Africa has always been is main interest area.
